Engineering Buyer

The Company
My client is a leading international engineering company based in Wakefield that has been successfully trading for over a 150 years. As part of a large, highly successful group they supply bespoke solutions to a global client base
The Role
Working within a procurement department of 4, you will be responsible for building effective long term relationships with suppliers with an aim to driving costs down and pushing for better lead times and quality. Using a specialist MRP system you will be responsible for the daily purchasing of a wide range of raw materials and equipment from suppliers based in the UK and overseas.
Hours & Days:
- 37 Hours per week
- Monday – Thursday 8.30 to 5pm
- Early Finish on a Friday
About You:
An adaptable and commercial focused buyer you pay a key part in Supply Chain team. Technically minded you will be working closing with the production/estimating team and be able to interpret technical drawings. Experience in purchasing steel and engineering consumables would be a definite advantage
